More Beach

More Beach...just can't get enough :P

G.O.D in the middle

Horrible long process that I failed at in the beginning but now fixed and I'm happy with the results. I added G.O.D.

This is a picture I took in New Haven. I like how the lines dont match up but they are very defined. Enjoy!

Beach Rotation

Hey everyone, I took one of the pictures that I shot at the beach and rotated it. I liked how the light from the sun is setting right in the middle of the picture. Enjoy!!!

Winter

Here are a couple pictures that I took yesterday afternoon...I took two for the water assignment--the cup and the ice...I love the way that the water bubbled when it hit the bright red cup, and I like the way the leaves froze in the block of ice. The wheel barrow picture I took yesterday in the hopes of using it for the multiple mirror images project... Enjoy!

trees

me trying the mirror effect.

Seen through the Cracks

Here is a creation of a previous shot I took of cracks in the pavement, added with a variation of the symmetry technique Jerry taught us.

Central Park

These are two pics that I took in Central Park. The lighting wasn't working with me that well but I did get a couple shots that came out nice with editing.

Pond

This image was taken on a very cold winter day. Luckly it was a sunny and their was not snow on the ground. I am getting sick of the snow and can not wait for the warm weather.

By the beach in West Haven

Hey everyone, I went to the West Haven beach yesterday and I actually live near by it. When I went, it was around 5pm and it was low tided. Even though it was very cold, I liked how the sun light was setting upon the sand and water. Enjoy!

How to create a 4 way symmetry

1. Find an image that has linear or geometric elements to it... Trees in winter are great....
2. Use the crop tool and hold the shift key to crop an interesting portion to a perfect square...
3. Select all (Ctrl-A), Copy (Ctrl-C) then paste 3 times (Ctrl-V,V,V)
4. Double the width and height of the canvas by choosing menu item IMAGE>CANVAS SIZE the change site to 200 percent h and w. Anchor the image to one corner.
5. Use the move tool to move the 4 layers out to each corner..
6. EDIT>TRANSFORM
7. Layer>Flatten Image.
8. Edit for light.
Done!

Water on the Rocks

Here are a couple more water shots...I tried to do close-up shots that focused on the water cascading over the rocks...I really like the contrasting textures, especially in the leaf's veins in the second picture. Enjoy!!

Summer London Lights

New Haven Train Station

Rock water fall

This is a photo of the underside of some heavy machinary outside of Dominican hall. I thought that it would be cool to make a little fort under here =)

Fort Nathanel Hale

This image is of salt that has built up in cracks of the asphalt outside of dominican hall.

Water on a chilly day

As the title suggests this photo was taken on a cold day. Luckly, I was able to take a nice photo.

brittany collard : self portrait

I chose to post a picture of my soccer cleats as my self portrait because the sport is a major part of my life. I've been playing since I was very young and just finished my last year of competitive soccer here at albertus. Im majoring in art and plan to get my masters down the road in education to become an art teacher. I plan on continuing to coach on the side as well.
